Default Favorite Quotes or Moments from The Thing

It seems we've got a lot of fans of John Carpenter's The Thing around here, so I thought I'd start a thread specifically devoted to discussing our favorite quotes or moments from The Thing.

I'll get things started with a few of each:

Favorite Moments from The Thing

1. Wilford Brimley (back when he was A. Wilford Brimley) demonstartes the power of Quaker Oates by firing off a pistol and wreaking havoc with a fire axe.
2. Nauls and Palmer watch taped episodes of Let's Make a Deal while getting baked.

Favorite Quotes from The Thing

1. "I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!" (Garry)
2. "I was wonderin' when El Capitan was gonna get a chance to use his popgun." (Palmer)

I think my favorite moments would have to be:

1. Wilford Brimley runs his computer simulation. Uh-oh.
2. Decapitated head grows spider legs and runs away.
3. The sound that comes out of dog handler guy's mouth when he's burning up outside in the snow.

I can never remember exact quotes, but I like when Kurt Russell tests his own blood with the white-hot wire and says, "Let's see what I already know."

My favorite moment is when Wilford Brimley is trying to convince everyone that he's safe and can be trusted. Hysterical. He's so earnest...

I love how McReady insists on referring to the Norwegians as "Hey, Sweden!"

Dr. Copper patiently informs him, "They're Norwegian, Mac."

I also thoroughly enjoy Brimley's computer simulation.

The scene with the dogs also rules.

Yeah, that simulation was pretty grim. I kept expecting Pac-Man to come onto the screen and start eating those weird blue globs.

What I always found interesting was that guy who actually drew attention to the spider-head turned out to be infected. I suppose he was trying to deflect suspicion, although he wasn't able to get out of the 'ol blood test.

That's a great one. Me and a pal joke about that one from time to time.

"Watch Clark and watch him close."

"I'm much better now."

I suppose he must've already been replaced when the conversation took place, as he's been below building his spaceship.
