Best Ghost Stories
What are the best ghost stories you ever heard or that you used to tell to each other as kids?
I had a girlfriend when I was 19 who told me the best ghost story I ever heard. She spent the night somewhere. I don't remember where, now. But at some point in the middle of the night, she woke up, and a man, ghostly-pale, dressed in a very old-fashioned suit walked into the room where she was sleeping and sat down at the edge of the bed and stared at her.
She was convinced that it really happened, and when she told me the story, I was convinced that she believed it.
I don't believe in ghosts now, and I know that isn't an especially scary story, but the conviction with which she told it made me a little scared at the time.
