Whats your favorite episode of "Tales from the Darkside"?

Mine is "Season of Belief" (I think thats the correct title). Its a Christmas episode where the parents are telling their kids about a monster named "The Grither" and how its coming to get them.

My fave episode is the one where the father wants his birthday cake and he still repeats this as a skeleton in death, if memory serves me right.

That was Creepshow, but still a good episode. :)

"Word Processor of the Gods", Maximoto. That one was written by Stephen King too. Or Richard Bachman, whatever name he was using at the time.

There was also one about a guy who had a drinking problem and would do anything to stop drinking. I will not say the ending cuz I do not want to spoil it for anyone. That one was great too.

they're doing a TFTD marathon right now on scifi channel.

Ohhh, I remember Tales From The Darkside. I watch it when I get the chance--looks like me and JJ were watching the same marathon!
I think my favorite is one that was on a while ago. A little boy's great grandmother died on Halloween, and he carried out some sort of Scottish ritual to protect her soul and his family from the "Cutty Black Sow".

The "Cutty Black Sow" was actually kind of creepy...thus making it a good one.

Oh my yes. :D I think the ones where they really build up the suspense and don't show the whole critter make things creepier.
That little bitty old lady's voice, though! She could really yell! Made for a great addition to the story.

They really hit it with the whole feeling of dread and terror that the little kid was feeling. I think we've all been there...the winds eerie howl and tree branches smacking the window. Yikes!

I don't know if this was Tales from the Darkside or Crypt but there was an episode about a beauty contest and one of the competition kills the person in first place to win. But then it turns out the contest is for Miss Autopsy and they kill her and open her up. I just remember her being dissected and pinned up like a bug in a bug collection. It totally freaked me out when I was younger.

That was Tales From the Crypt, Season 4. The episode is called "Beauty Rest"

The last TFTD that I saw (and remember) was this guy who got an apartment and some Indian guy showed up. Something about him being asleep in Calcutta in the street, and his soul got shoved from one place into another.
That one always confuses me because I'm not entirely sure what's going on (but what else is new, right?) so I am still not real sure about the story--but it was kind of creepy to me just because you kind of felt the main character's frustration.

"My Own Place" is probably the one you are thinking of, Helphyre. From a quick glance at other forums, nobody understands that episode either. I can't remember it but maybe I'll look it up sometime and see if it's as confusing as everyone says it is.
