Yep, they are planning a prequel to Friday the 13th. All I know is it will show the origin of Jason. No release date or actual plot has been revealed yet.

The origin of Jason was he was an apparently normal, healthy kid who went to camp, died due to negligence on the horny teen camp counsellors part, Ma came back for revenge, was slain for her trouble, Jason avenges her death for next 9 movies. What? Now he has BACK issues??!!?

And we also already know Freddy was the 'bastard son of a thousand maniacs' being the child born of a nun raped by the insane in an asylum. When he tried to get revenge in this life he was murdered for his trouble by the parents who lived on Elm Street. Freddy avenges his own death for the next 7 (8 vs' Jason) movies. What back story??!? We already know it!

I can see a prequel to Nightmare showing what Freddy did while he was still human. A Friday the 13th prequel would have to be altered in order to make some storyline. They altered Jason vs Freddy by saying Jason was afraid of water, yet how many people did he kill by going underwater and he even walked to Manhatten underwater. Doesnt seem afraid of it to me. Maybe it will be a movie of how he became this super killer after he drowned. Or maybe Hollywood will produce yet another crap movie and throw a name on it hoping it will sell tickets.

Yeah... wait, what if they find another loophole? I.E. Did you ever notice that they NEVER mentioned Jason's father? There's even a rumor that he was a deleted character.

In a bizarre twist Mrs Vorhees is an ex-nun who used to work in the same asylum as Ms Krueger, disappeared under mysterious circumstances only to reappear married to a Mr(John)Vorhees. They have a child whose date of birth is fobbed off as 'he was a premature baby'. Ma is fiercly protective but gives in to sending little Jason to camp after his impassioned pleas to go. Cue Part 1. Oh and it turns out Jason and a 'Fred Krueger' have the same blood type.....
