I remember seeing this movie for the first time as a kid and really enjoying it.I can't remember for sure but this might have been the first zombie movie I ever saw.I know it was either this or Night of the Living Dead.I know some people don't care for this because its kind of slow moving but thats what I love about it.The first half of the movie you get to know the characters instead of just jumping in with alot of zombie action.You see early on just what kind of a bastard Alan really is and its proven again at the end of the movie when him and Anya are the only two left alive.If you've seen the movie then you know what I mean.The zombies don't look too bad and there really isn't that much gore that I remember.I just don't know what was scarier.The zombies or Alan's pants.Its a toss up
