Back in the 40's and 50's there were these old vacuum cleaners that were chrome....futuristic looking contraptions...some guy would come to your door, worm his way in on some phrase or gimmick slogan...the unwitting housewifr would sit and watch while this idiot dumps sand, flour, sugar, and soot...possibly animal hair...onto your carpet, and swear he can get it all cleaned up or buy you a new carpet. sometimes it didn't work. This was the Kirby Vacuum Company....they SUCK!
