Hello. I call myself signals and I have been a major fan of horror for a very long time now. I think my introduction to horror came when I was five years old and I saw "Young Frankenstein" in the movies. I loved it so much that when I came home, my mother (yes, my mother) said that "YF" was a spoof on horror and that if I really wanted to know about scary films, I should see the 1931 version of "Frankenstein" and other films like "Dracula", "The Mummy", "The Wolf Man" and "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (the one with Frederic March.). Not only was I not scared, but I wound up loving them and craved for more. Since then, anytime a horror film came out, I made sure to see it. My father wasn't crazy about this but my mother didn't care and took me to the theater every time (until the mid-eighties when I was able to go myself.). I also like to attend collectable expos too. Every time Chiller Theater comes around, I always go. Have been since October of 2000. Anyway, down below you will a small list of some of the movies I've seen plus a few of many favorite TV shows. Read you around the boards.

Thanks for the welome. Yeah, my mother was cool that way. She was of the opinion that horror films don't make people become violent or devil worshipers. In fact, when heavy metal music was beginning to get more popular, she encouraged me to listen to it. Seriously. She felt as long as I knew reality from fantasy, it didn't matter what I listened to.

p.s. My favorite all time film is "The Omen" and yes I saw that one in the theater too. Favorite metal band is "Iron Maiden". Another favorite Tv show of mine is "Dark Shadows" (Go Angelique)

lovely to read your post, signals- really like the name :)
im with you on all your films- all excellent- excluding
Burnt Offerings - 1976
Audrey Rose - 1977....i have never seen or heard of these movies.... would love to though!- and The Omen really is overrated- i know it sounds unreal but i actually did doze off! (on the other hand i have sleeping problems so maybe i needed the rest!) we're always here 4 a chat on opinons on horror and anything else- you'll love the other caverners as much as i do!

*from behind these walls i hear your song, oh sweet words
the music you play lights up my world
the sweetest that i've heard
could it be i've been touched and turned, oh lord please
finally, finally things are changing*

Thanks for the welcome. Burnt Offerings is a film about a family who rents a summer house without realizing it's haunted. Audrey Rose is a film about the reincarnation one girl's soul trying to occupy another girl's body. As for The Omen, I can't get enough of it. To me, I think The Exorcist is more overrated even though I love the film. Try and see the other two films if you can, I promise they won't disappoint.

Aye ye ye!

From the thunder and the storm and the cloud that took the form, when the rest of Heaven was blue, of a demon in my view.
