What I've read on SAW & Cursed

Sequal to SAW in production (pls no spoilers on first, haven't seen it yet).
Wes Craven's Werewolf flick 'Cursed' was delayed for a year(?!) even tho written by Kevin Williamson and starring Christina Ricci - also many other names we know in the horror genre - because studio wanted it to be cut to PG!!!!!.
Can I just add though, that the plot sounds awfully familiar - like 'Ginger Snaps'?

"Cursed" has delayed for a year? I thought the movie was supposed to come out in February. Not only that, but why is studio looking for a PG rating? HELLO, the title is called "Cursed". It's a werewolf flick. Who are the studio heads looking for as an audience, seven year olds? This isn't "Teen Wolf". Why don't they just take past films like "The Howling" and "An American Werewolf in London", re-edit them and make them PG too? It seems to me that Hollywood execs think they know what we want to see. I understand some compromises are made but to change from an "R" rating to a "PG" rating is ridiculous.
