I lay in bed, eyes wide open. The noise from down the hall haunts its way into my bedroom and fills me with terror, preventing me from any form of sleep or rest. Moans of pain and agony work their way deep into my head, unfiltered by my trembling hands that cover my ears. Rarely, the noise would wake me from my slumber but its has been happening alot more often. Tonight I am truely frightened. Usually, the noise only lasts for a few minutes but tonight its lonely cries of torture have been screaming for what seems like hours. I dont dare walk down the hall to investigate, for what I may encounter could be a sight that will be embedded in my brain for the rest of my life. I'm not a religious person, but I have tried praying for the noise to go away and leave me in peace, but it has no effect. It seems to get louder and more terrifying every night. Silence now fills the room. Is it over for tonight? I sit in my quiet bed, leary whether it is truely over or not. The noise begins again, followed by a voice. A voice filled with terror and anger. The words burn into my brain as the tortured soul screams from down the hall "We're out of toilet paper!" I hear a flush. The noise has ended...for tonight.
