Anyone have any interesting stories about Halloween parties they have had or been to? My friends and I threw a party at his parents house once. It was a house they were still building so it was basically a "shell". There were wall and windows to form the house, but the inside was still empty space. There was no electricity so we brought in 2 generators. And of course we had to rent a port-a-potty because there was no water or even a toilet. We made up flyers and passed them around. Something we learned though, was that we had parties before and didnt have a cover charge and not very many people showed up. This one we wrote on the flyers that there was a $10 cover charge and of course we had close to 100 - 150 people showing up. We didnt charge them though. It was strange why more people would come to a "pay" party then a free one. Either way, the fire was burning outside, music and dancing were happening inside and a good time was had by all.

Wow.. I usually only get about 20 people at my Halloween party. Maybe I should start adding the cover charge on my invitations!:):) I'm gonna go all out. $100 dollars a plate!!!

That's a cool story Mr Sasquatch, Just one question, was there a mens and womens port-a-potty, lol j/k.
I've never thrown a halloween party at my house, I usually go to bars on halloween and try and win money for my costumes and of course drink and get loaded. My buddy used to win money every year for the costumes he made and he would show me how to make cool costumes but it takes quite a bit of time for some of them. He has a costume of the Predator that's made him thousands of dollars because it is so ****ing amazing, He wins money for it every Halloween.

:DOn Sept.20th 2003 I will be having a VAMPIRE REVEL!
This party started out many years ago as a pre-Halloween party for those of us that were too busy with the Haunted Houses to actually attend or have one of our own near Halloween.
The 1st one was seven of us, all dressed like some kind of vampire, sitting around, drinking beer, and watching Vampire flicks all night.
We continued this annually as every year as it got bigger and bigger, with more people showing up.
These days it is a Gothic Rave, Fetish party, biker bash, and Halloween party all rolled into one.
It goes from dusk til dawn. The longest one started at 7:00pm on a Saturday and ended at 2:00am on a Monday.
GOD!! THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!

Halloween 2001 my friend and I threw a great party which featured a lot of well-done low-budget decor. You can do a lot with cut-open black trash bags pinned tight as wall and ceiling cover, black crepe paper streamers, ripped and tattered, and several well-placed black paper bats with neon paint ribs and skeletal features that glow under blacklight... It was a nice sort of ambiance remeniscent of Mr. Oogie Boogie's basement in A Nightmare before Christmas... We also had great food and appetizers, that we went to a lot of trouble over, and some CD compilations I burned from MP3s.
It wasn't expensive, just time consuming to prepare for, but that was a lot of fun, and people were talking about it and trying to duplicate it for a long time after.
I can't wait to have another one someday! Luminarias (made of paper bags, sand, and tea lights) are inexpensive if you make them authentic, and are a beautiful way to light your front walk and steps for Halloween or any evening party.

I guess I'm a little late on this thread, but me and wifey and kids watched 'Halloween' as is a normalcy at home- Everything else was pretty much along the lines of a sane Halloween. No razor blades in apples, however.
I think everyone on these boards are probably still in junior high. Amateurish posts, atrocious grammar, and just about every other imaginable cardinal sin of the message board world. This place is a zoo. For all the people who are intelligent (although thats VERY unlikely) -visit www.*********.com - I doubt if any of you grade school remedial students could handle the conversations.
