Since it's time everyone was working on their props, I thought I'd post this for anyone who needs it.

************************************************
Thought this might interest those of you that may need just
the right prop for that lonesome dark corner. It doesn't take
up much room, and has a great impact on your Halloween guest's.
I had made this prop a couple of decades ago, but it's still
one of my favorites. If any of you have been to Disneyland's
Haunted Mansion, you can't help but notice the two "Watching"
busts as you go through the walk-through part of the attraction.
The busts seem to "Watch" you as you pass them, turning their
heads your direction as you go by ....yet the people on
either side of you see the exact same thing! How is this possible
you may ask? Pretty simple actually. All you need is a cardboard
box, black contact paper, brush & paints, a small lighting source,
and a cheap Halloween mask.

Take your mask, (I used a skull mask but you can use whatever
suits you) and paint the INSIDE of it (as this will be facing out). On the skull I only had to paint the eye socket's, nose, between the teeth, and crack's in the top of the skull. Do a little shading, depending on what you choose, I shaded cheek bones, temples, and around jaw bone areas. Then paint any areas you want to really show up. On the skull I painted a little blood trickling down the forehead and at the corner of the mouth. Using a small cardboard box that is
only a little bigger than your mask, leaving about 6" or so around
all sides. Cut the bottom of the box out, then cover it in black contact paper, leaving the top uncovered. Centering it, place your
painted, dried mask, in the bottom with what would normaly be the
right side up (facing you). Your painted side should be down. Then
take some black contact paper and go around the edge of the mask to
make sure it stays. Turn the box over, and carefully cut out where
the middle of the face is, cutting out a little at a time till you
reach about 1/4" from the sides. Turning in the 1/4" onto the mask
to help keep out any light that may shine through. Place the box
on it's side, with your mask face right-side up, place a flashlight,
small lamp(w/o shade) or some other means of lighting in the box.
If you use a flashlight, you may have to put something under it, to
bring the light up even with the mask. And if you use a small lamp.
be sure to not use a high watt bulb! this will create too much heat!
Use a 40 or 25, depending on how much light it takes to make it look
good, try different ones to see. Or, if you have a lighting fixture, you could cut a hole in the top of the box (side) and secure it in that way. Fold in the box ends, and cover the back of the box with a piece of black material, just drape it over, don't connect it.

When you turn off the lights in the room, this is an awesome prop. It appears to "Watch" you whever you go! @@ ENJOY!!
