Who do you think is stronger vampires or werewolves according to Mythology facts. In my opinion I would have to say the Vampires because they seem to have more abilities than the Werewolves, also they say the vampire is suppose to have great strength, speed, sensory perception, and abilities. ;)

Based on weaknesses alone, I'd be compelled to say that werewolves are the strongest, since only silver objects such as bullets, swords (or as in the case of Larry Talbot) canes with silver handles can kill them, and only when delivered to a vital spot. However, as anyone who has ever read Bram Stoker knows, vampires can control the "meaner" animals...including wolves. It is conceivable, therefore, that vampires -- who are capable of shape shifting themselves -- could easily control werewolves as well. Besides, werewolves are part time, involintary monsters whereas vampires are full-time bad asses. And that's gotta count for something!
Then again, as anyone who has ever seen "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstien" might remember, while Abbott and Costello were running around trying to evade Frankenstien's monster, Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi) did an on-going battle with the Wolfman (Lon Chaney, Jr.) and it was pretty well even-matched.
Then again, they were going for the gold...not the silver...and there wasn't a lot at stake.
It's only magic...if you believe...

Hmm...I'd have to say Vampires=brains, and Werewufs=brawn. That's basically about it. I mean, when the turning comes for a were-anything, the human side of them is virtually no longer there. They wouldn't feel reason to use logic or intelligence of any sort during a scrap, just using their strength to whup the other creatures' tail! Vampires on the other hand, (if you mean the "pretend" kind, the ones that can't ingest garlic without suffering), I'd have to say that they have more mortal in their heads than a wolf that walks upright. They could easily trick the werewuf into both ending it's own life by drawing it into a cage of silver, or kill it by just simply grabbing a shotgun, and shooting 'em. However, if you mean like the 'real' vampires in this world, (just people who enjoy the act of drinking blood), I'd have to say they could take down a puppy dog, whether the bullet be silver, or not. :) Sorry that took an essay to write! Lol! ;)

I would lean more towards the vampires, they have the hearing that is so slight, that they can detect your every move, and they are constantly in this state, whereas the Werewolf is in it only during the full moons, and some do not even realize that they are a werewolf.

I have to vote for the vampires as well. It seems that werewolves are mostly animals with no real logic other than killing and hunting instincts. Strength wise they may have an advantage but once again it comes down to brains. Strength doesnt matter if your opponent outsmarts you every time.

Well, if you are going just by movies, I'd say werewolves. The Howling werewolves are smarter than most vampires and so are other werewolves in fiction. But I think it would depend on who struck the first blow really. The problem is everyone (including me) roots for their favorite monster to win, so I don't think we'll ever find the answer. :)

I'm more of a werewolve movie fan but I would have to go with vampires just from reading everything that you guys wrote and I agree with the logic that a vampire would take a werewolf in a fight.

But since when are werewolves so stupid? Granted the crazy people who thought their fur was on the inside were stupid, but they were stoned on the garbage they did the spell with. I think werewolves would hunt in a pack anyway. Well, I guess with the new movie coming out, we will hear Hollywood's view on it. Don't get me wrong, I dig vampires, but I think it would be a mistake to just brush a werewolf off as stupid. Jason's got no brain whatsoever and he manages to kill people just fine. LOL!

Awwwooo! Score one for the shape shifters. Of course, I'm pretty sure a werecat could beat the snot out of them both. LOL! Yeah, we are the undisputed minority of the monster kingdom. But we plan on thinning out the ranks real soon. :)

a vampire might be able to outsmart a werewolf, but I have to say that I admire the werewolf more for its pure instinct and beastiality. Werewolves never seem to have any kind of... moral dilemmas about things like having to kill people to stay alive and you almost never hear one whining about how much of a chore it is to have such awesome power! They just get on with it![:p]
I think Nightcat has a point about werewolves hunting in packs. That has to be an advantage!

that's what i'm talking about night-cat, if your speaking in terms of outsmarting your enemy using your intelligence, i'm not sure of the advantage you would have when it comes down to claw to nails, but the most memorable loup-garoos hunted alone, in my opinion the only resolve for the undead to utilize would be to turn to smoke and dissapate for it's own salvation, no way a were-wolf's going down in a scrap.

on a related topic, based on the box office sales of "freddy vs jason" and general demand from the die-hard horror populace, there has been talk at dimension films to put together the next battle royale blockbuster, what happens if michale myers plays with pinhead's box?
you guessed it "helloween"
a screenplay has already been established along with a too cool poster, and it seems production will begin soon. the film would be a must see to say the least.
who would you be for...? as for myself, i do hope pinhead brings along the rest of his cinabites.
he's going to need them.

one of michales trademarks, i love it, even kane from wwe stole that one when he gets clobbered, i can see pinhead trying to impale the "shape" with his razor hook routine, only to have him slash them away with his machette sized butcher knife, his family heirloom, then the demonic bodily dissmemberment begins... "pinhead..freddy..." they think they rule hell...well "HE" is coming to "their" home this time. the dawn of a new era approaches.....epic proportions children of the night, hail to the king.

Oh man, Michael would kick Pinheads ass in ways that our out of this world, That wouldn't even be a challenge for Micheal. Why dosen't New Line and Dimension films hook up and make the ultimate battle become a reality, Michael vs Jason, Power vs Power, Let the best man(iac) win.:D
Also, When is the release date of Underworld?, I saw Kate Beckinsdale on Craig Kilborn last night but I wasen't paying attention to the release date because Kate is so ****ing hot and I was little distracted.:D;)

Nightcat, I remember buying the 20th anniversary of Halloween on vhs and it came with a michael myers key chain and a halloween panphlet, It was well worth it. I don't know what they have for the 25th anniversary but it might worth it to buy it just to see if it comes with anything.;)
So nobody knows when Underworld starts?

I bought it, and good Lord it was worth it! All the sound has been cleaned up and the digital version of the film is much crisper and cleaner than my video.
OK, I was a bit afraid an indie would suffer from a crystal clear picture, but this film rocks! It is also in a widescreen format which allows viewers to see stuff they missed before. There is a nice booklet and lots of stuff on the second DVD such as new features on the film and DVD Rom stuff like screensavers for your computer.
Yes, I'm raving, but this is the first time I've seen the film in the complete and crystal clear format. If anything it is scarier! :)
Mmm, I think Underworld is due out soon, but I'm not sure of the exact release date.

And Pinhead would put some serious whoopin' on Myers [:p]

Sounds terrible! I personally hate movies from the monster's point of view. Monsters aren't supposed to think, they are supposed to kill people. Well, Freddy and some others think, but you still get the victim's POV. Tell me ate least the make up was good on the werewovles? Please? It looked too Matrix to me, so I skipped it.
Speaking of which, who else was dissapointed with The Howling DVD special edition? Wide screen my right eye.

As a satanist, I cannot say that vampires are superior. A Werewolf in the context I'm using is effectively a satanist. Being able to bend your psyche to be more "beast-like" is a skill that is enjoyable and requires a great deal of control of ones mind. Contrary to films et ceatera, the satanist belief is that the werewolf is the one who tricks the vampire, and not the other way around! which is why, in reality, I have to say that the werewolf is stronger physically and psychologically. stop living in a world of films, and face the music: even though vampires may look cool, the werewolf is the stronger party.
-noctis lupinus
Did you ever see that "Real Ghostbuster" episode called "No One Comes to Lupisville"? It had Vampires vs Werewolves and the fight was never ending because everytime a vampire bit a werewolf it turned into a Vampire and everytime a werewolf bit a vampire it turned into a werewolf. So they broke a bridge so that the entire town was surrounded by running water and neither creature could leave. It has no bearing on the subject just thought it was kinda neat thats all!
Uh, if there's a steady paycheck, I'll believe anything you say!

I'm with Mr. Sasquatch on the concept of a battle with Pinhead Vs Myers. Pinhead would kick the HELL out of Myers. Pinhead is a demon instead of a ghoul or monster in terms to the Hellraiser Movie.
The werewolve was created in an image of a demon and its abilities and forms of one. The Vampire is more of a Hollywood fantasy built on sin and a vampiric living condition, But I do believe that a werewolve is a very powerful and brutal muscle, and a Vampire is more of a creature built and created on trickery, magic and energy, I think it would be a very awesome battle between the two of them. Especailly in the Vampire movie that will soon be in the future, I'm the number one fan of the author and his world his base on reality and magickal power. . .

I'm not sure. This could go either way but I'd be more inclined to vote for vampire. I'd hate to leave out werewolves and write them off as less intelligent but a battle to the death would be interesting to see. I don't think the vampire could end it all in one swift move.

But Werewolves hunt in packs , and Vampires dont , so that would be an advantage.

yeah, werewolves definatly have the brute strength goin for 'em, but a vampire could easily outsmart a werewolf. I mean werewolves are badass and everything, but they're not the sharpest tools in the shed, and for them to kill a vampire they would need to be able to drive a wodden stake through the heart of a vampire and I'm not so sure they would know that.
