Well, heck. If we're going to talk "girly" flicks, let's not stop at "The Craft" (which was pretty cool). How about "Carrie," "Carrie II, the Rage" (which I really liked) or either of the two versions of "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman"?
I mean, who could forget the lyrics of the song "Attack of the 50 Woman" by an 80s rock group called the Tubes..."Dunno how things got to be such a mess...gotta a 50 foot woman in a five-foot dress..."

5-Nightmare on Elm Street Part 1 (Freddy is quick with the one- liners, isn't he?)
4-Jaws part 1 (only because of the dead guy in the boat hole)
3-Signs (Make ya almost wizz in your pants scary)
2-Hell Night (I couldn't shower without my mommy present after seeing- this movie)
1-Friday the 13th Part 1 (Come on, who has the coolest mom in the- world? Would your mother go crazy and hack up kids for you?)
1-The Entire Living Dead Series-Black and white or colored versions- of the older ones (I know, only 5, but these are a toss up- Like these because they all have what a horror movie needs: Zombies,- Brain-Eating, Dismembered Corpses, and a whole lot of Blood- and Gore. My fave out of these is the one in the mall,- intestines were everywhere)

I can't believe there is somebody else on this planet that has actually watched Nosferatu. All others reading this, it is the 1922 silent German version of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Cool, I don't feel like the only one who watches this movie a lot.

You're TOO funny Magicman--Love those old horror classics!
HeavenLeiyh, aren't there two "Nosferatu" movies? One old one and one new with Willam DeFoe?
Wicked

08-08-2003, 05:16 PM
The new one is called "Shadow of the Vampire", and it's about the making of "Nosferatu", but it goes on the premise that Max Schreck (the German actor who plays Count Orlock aka... Count Dracula) really is a vampire. I thought it was pretty good, and Willem DeFoe did a great job. HeavenLeiyh as far as the original "Nosferatu", they don't know what they're missing.

No...Wicked is right. There was a new version of "Nosteratu" made in the late 90s before "Shadow of the Vampire"...one of the things that made it memorable were the scenes of all the rats and the bloated corpses of all the people that had died from the desease the vampire had brought with it. But it definitely lacked the incredible creepiness of the Max Shrek original.
And Wicked, I agree about those wonderful/dreadful old black and white drive in classics from the 50s. Just the other day I watched one called "The Killer Shrews." It featured all three of my ex-wifes plus my latest ex-fiance. Now that WAS a horror, wasn't it?

You should not overlook the 1979 version of Nosferatu. It's not as good as the Murnau version, which still inspires filmmakers of today. But still, worth taking a peek at if you are a fan of the original.
