I think that North America also has the 'werecat' and 'werewolf', no? I mean...there aren't many wolves that we see, that's true, but I know for sure that Canada has some. :)

As for werecobras, although there are no recorded legends, there is high potential for them. There are said to be something of a tale of body-shifting men taking the form of massive crocodiles in Africa. Silver is said to stun and kill Loup-garous (massive, abnormally large wolves similar to werewolves in creation), as well as the original werewolves (bipedal wolfmen). Werecobras, for whatever reason, have an inexplicable weakness against glass. Talismans, for whatever reason, may work against European breeds of wermyn, but not against most others. The werefoxes of southeast asia's illusion can be broken through via observance of abnormal behavior, or strong religious faith. Kitsune will display behavior not like that of a normal human, as they live amongst their own kind......

Meaning that therefore, although they'll try to blend in, you may notice them acting distinctly...... fox-like...... That's your cue that it's not your friend you are talking to..... The weregorillas are virtually non-existant to most, but are said to be damaged by bamboo and ivory.
