Thought we might share some of our favorite effects/recipes
here is one of my many to share.

Buckets o' Blood
1 Liter Corn Syrup

5 Liters Water

2 or 3 Tablespoons Red Food Coloring
1/2 Teaspoon Green Food Coloring (optional)
A slosh of milk

Get a large pail to mix this all together. If you do not like the consistancy you can either thin it with more water, or thicken it with sugar or corn syrup. The exact amount of food coloring you require will depend on the brand you buy, so you may need to play around with the measurements. If you make it too dark, just add more water again. Adding some milk will reduce the translucent of the mixture (real blood isn't see-thru, but if you want clear blood, leave the milk out of the recipe). Don't add too much milk or the blood will look pink!

The final product should splash like water, but be slightly shinier, and not soak into cloth quite the same way water does, leaving more of it on the outside of clothes so they look suitably bloodied. NOTE: This will stain clothing, so don't get it on anything important.

If you use Glycerin also, it gives it an awsome texture to it. It works great, especially outside, it won't call bees like Karo Syrup does. Ben Nye also has an awsome powder you can buy and mix with the water and glycerin, no need to thicken it, and it makes 1 gallon.

Good to know Morticia, about the bees that is. We use this recipe at night so we don't have any trouble--but some might if they use it during the day.

I'd love to share my "Midnight Punch" recipe but for some reason, I lose it every year. I'm sure you can find it in books but it consists of grape kool aid, ginger ale, some other stuff and whatever alcohol (if any) you want to put in it. Gee, that was a rather useless post from me wasnt it? "Thanks for nothing Mr. Sasquatch!"

Good stuff with the blood recipe but I'm thinking I like the punch recipe since there's alcohol in it.:D

I have no recepies to contribute but I remember a Halloween party when I was younger, Someone had a pot full of something and a cloud of a white coluored substance(kind of like steam but thicker) was coming out of it, The first thing I thought was that's cool and the second thing I thought is how did they do that.
