Today's Horror Films

How would you describe today's horror film? I see several trends in horror movies over the last decade, and I expect we'll see some of them continue:


"Torture porn" has become quite popular.
Mediocre remakes of older horror movies make lots of money.
Mediocre remakes of foreign horror movies make lots of money too.
The horror comedy is better now than it's ever been.

What am I leaving out when I describe the state of horror movies today? Are horror movies now better than ever or worse than ever? What are your thoughts about horror movies in the 21st century?

Porno Holocaust - Italy
Images in a Convent - Italy
Emanuelle in America - Italy, included all around world
Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals - Italy

All of the movies shown above were directed by Joe D' Amato. They're all X-rated version, and they stated that you must be 18 and over in order to view these movies.

Well, there are so many lists of other foreing/cult horror films that I really can't list here at all.... Too much for me! :shock:
