View Full Version : Which Horror Movie Do You Hope They Never Remake?

Okay, they've already "relaunched" Friday the 13th, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Halloween. The relaunch of A Nightmare on Elm Street is on the way. There have also been remakes of films such as The Hitcher, The Wicker Man, and Dawn of the Dead.

My question is: which horror movie do you hope they never remake?

Personally, I hope Hollywood leaves Fright Night and Seven alone, as they're two of my favorites.

I'd hate to have to sit through a remake of Fright Night too. I could see remaking Seven though, only this time, they could cast Steve Carell in the Brad Pitt role. And give a lot more backstory about the villain's childhood. THAT would be cool.

I wish H'wood would stop the remakes completely. If I had to pick movies, I would say The Excorcist and The Blair Witch Project.

Now that you mention it, I'm surprised they haven't remade The Exorcist. I guess they're concerned that people would throw a fit since it's considered such a classic. I suppose the flak they get for remaking Nightmare on Elm Street just isn't as great.

The thing is, if Hollywood will do a shot-for-shot remake of Psycho, anything's possible.

I will kill someone if they remake the Birds.

It's bad enough they touched Psycho, and Rear Window (or ripped-off of it: Disturbia).

I JUST saw The Birds a few days ago. That movie was perfect as is.

Maniac(1980) there is no way they will be able to find someone as imposing, pathetic, and disturbing, utterly convincing as Joe Spinell was in this twisted classic.Overall the movie should not be messed with or re-envisioned in any way.For sheer screen dominance watch Spinell as Frank Zito by the end you begin to feel a part of Zito s world.

I would've put Fright Night on the list, but I guess I didn't get my wish on that.

i have nothing against remakes; some of them are pretty awesome (invasion of the body snatchers, dawn of the dead, the thing, 13 ghosts). despite all the remake dreck we get, i would never want to miss an opportunity to see something reimagined in a cool, nifty way, even if it means sifting through a bazillion crap-fests.

having said that, i hope that london after midnight never gets remade. it's so mysterious, so legendary, so lost. i can only imagine what it's like. i would hate to have the mystery destroyed.

Well, they have already remade Psycho, Halloween and Carrie, all three which I couldn't see. I agree to remake The Exorcist would be a tragedy, and I can't see them trying to remake Poltergeist.
