One of the most vivid nightmares I have had was a very short dream, but it was so vivid and frightening that it woke me up.
It was very straightforward.
I was in this red sports car, somewhere in the desert in California, though I have never been there, but it was like out of some movie, maybe The Stand by Stephen King or Vanishing Point.
The car is speeding, like full pedal to the metal, and it is a little exhilirating.
Then, suddenly, I realise that I am no longer driving, but I am now in the front Passenger seat, and I am strapped in very tight, like my arms are strapped down, under very thick black seatbelts, there is about 2 heavy-duty Seat belts, holding me down.
And I look to my left and the Driver is a young Girl, but not only is she a child but she is disabled in some way, so I know she cannot drive.
So the car is going to crash at some point.
She is smiling without a care in the world, and driving extremely fast.
Then suddenly, I see a big City in the foreground, we are driving towards a big City on a Hilltop, and after a few seconds big balls of fire are raining down on it, like out of the film Flash Gordon but more scary and Apocalyptic.
And I am being driven towards this burning City, strapped in, unable to move my arms, and the Driver-child next to me cannot even drive, but is somehow driving the car.
I woke up from this dream very suddenly in a cold sweat.
It was much scarier than it sounds, when I was dreaming it, but it only lasted a few minutes
But I have never forgotten it.
