The Trancers films tell the story of a renegrade cop from the 23rd century named Jack Deth. He ends up stranded in 1985 in the first film, after leaping through time to stop a dangerous villain who uses his psychic powers to trance people into becoming his followers. With no way to get back home, Jack decides to marry the girlfriend of his ancestor, Phil. The other five Trancers films have their moments, but I can watch the first one a hundred times. It's that good. Maybe a little on the outdated side, but you'll hardly care. Tim Thomerson is one of many great actors who became well known for starring in low budget classics. It is a shame that he'll probably choose not to return as Deth.
