For me, I don't think I am getting scared of clowns at all, as long as they are not some kinds of freak clowns!

IT! is one of my all time favorite TV movies. If I remember it ran over several nights when it originally aired. The famous line uttered by the Clown ---"Don't you want IT!" Don't you want It!" was great. I thought IT would be something else other than a giant spider though. The ending was a little bit of a letdown but the rest of the movie leading up to it was great.

Normally Clowns don't bother me but in the right circumstance they can be frightening.

I love clowns but the only clown that put fear into me was the one in IT.

Must be a lot of people scared of clowns. They even have a name for IT - Caulrophobia.
Not so sure, but I think I heard somewhere that the purple one himself, Prince, suffers from this. There was a story about him refusing to be somewhere because of Ronald McDonald was there.
Personnaly, even a super-sized Ronald McDonald wouldn't scare me, yet for years a tiny spider did. Over that now though, but phobias can be a funny thing.

*cough*
Coulrophobes are great fun to torment, I say. And eh, it's not exactly hard to do. But honestly, I can't quite understand why someone would have such a dislike for Clowns. Clowns are supposed to make you happy, not make you afraid.

When I was little I had a collection of porcelain clowns. They were like dolls, with porcelain heads and hands and feet and then a soft doll body. I loved them all except one - it was teal and white and something about the way the face was painted gave it a look of evil delight. I used to make it face the wall while I slept, then one night if fell on the floor and its foot broke. I wanted to get rid of it but my mom said she could glue the foot back together. After that I was afraid it was going to come and hurt me in my sleep for wanting to get rid of it and letting its foot get broken. This was well before IT, boy did I have an active imagination as a child. I also thought my stuffed animals would get angry if I kissed one goodnight more often than the others!

I like the line," We all float down here. You'll float too"

No they don't scare me, but I don't particularly like the look of a clown.
He's supposed to be happy but I find them creepy.
Funny 'cus "It" is one of the only Stephen King films I have yet to see.
Also It is one of his only books I have not read.

IT was a fantastic book, and also a great film. Stephen King doesn't write them like that any more. I think, though, when you've set such a high standard early on in a writing career, with titles like Carrie, Christine, and IT, it would be almost impossible to keep that standard up. Having said that, I thought Dreamcatcher was a lot better than what most people thought.
I remember Killer Clowns from Outer Space! I only remember watching it, though; can't remember if it was any good or not.
