I just made an account and I had no idea of what to post till I saw the Nightmares and Dreams section. So I thought it would be a good idea to write about one(out of thousands) dream I had when I was eleven years young. It was one of the scariest dreams I had and I'm kinda scared to talk about it with my mom because she hates to talk about these kind of things due to the fact the she's experienced some herself. But back to the real point here...
Three years ago I decided to rent a scary movie since I couldn't sleep, I picked out a movie called "The Ring". It must have been famous because everyone was talking about it at the time. It scared the hell out of me but nevertheless, I wasn't really frightened by it and went to sleep. I fell asleep incredibly fast but that's when my nightmare began. In my dream I was standing in a large field full of black birds, and a few feet ahead there was a forest filled with high trees, they looked dead. To my surprise it was all quiet, nothing could be heard, nothing moved. But suddenly the birds on the ground started chirping uncontrollably in agony and flying in a rush away from the forest. I couldn't help but wonder what scared them so and I felt my feet moving foward in the forest's direction. I tried to stop walking but I couldn't get myself to do so and in a second I realized I'd started to run. I stopped a few meters away from the agglomeration of trees and tried to get back my breath. I looked to the sky and saw that the day was coming to it's end and I ran into the forest and kept going further into it every second. I didn't know if I'd even stop running, if there was someone or something waiting for me at the end of my race against time, if I'd get out of there alive. I kept following the hidden pine trails of the forest till I could see what I, without even knowing, was looking for. A well. It was old and you could see stains of blood on it, luckly, it was closed with a giant stone. I just stood there looking at the well and discussing with myself if I'd either open it and see what it's hidden there or just forget about it and run back to the place I once stood. My curiosity was stronger than my will to stay out of trouble and I found myself pushing the stone off the well. I looked down and saw its deepness was endless and that if I fell in there I would never be able to get out. I turned my back to it and decided it was a good idea to walk away from the well before anything bad happened but I heard a voice. I couldn't hear what it was saying clearly so I walked up to the well again and asked if there was anyone there. Noone and nothing aswered. Suddenly I felt a strong wind rush through my hair, it kept getting stronger and it pushed me down the darkness. I fell and after a few seconds of desperation my body came in contact with the freezing cold water. I sank into the water but came to consciousness fast enough before I started drowning. I looked around me, not that there was much to look at since it was a small place. I screamed.
I started yelling for help hoping someone would hear my screams but it was no use. The sky above me was just turning darker and darker, and I was alone, I was cold and I was terrified that something would submerge from the dirty water and kill me... I sighed. I knew my screaming wouldn't get anywhere and I knew I was going to die. After some time, which seemed like hours I heard something being moved, I didn't give much attention to it and thought it was nothing but some animal playing or doing...things animals do. But then I began to wonder why it had gotten so dark in there and why it kept getting colder, and colder. I looked up and saw the worst thing I could possibly think of, the well was closed. I was trapped! Now I knew noone would ever hear me. My mind went blank and I started to see my house, my family waving at me and even my cat came in my direction. It was like nothing of that ever happened and I felt like I could just go to them and hug my family, forgetting about how afraid I was to die. Then it all turned reality and I could actually feel them. They talked to me saying that I was gone for a while and asking me where I was. After all our tears had been shed they told me to come inside because they had a surprise for me. I was really excited and couldn't wait to see what the surprise was. My happyness faded away in a matter of seconds when I saw that little girl from the movie sitting in the dinning table. I was shocked, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't think, I couldn't believe my eyes, I couldn't believe I was actually seeing that monstruosity infront of me. Samara(the little girl) looked at me with those black empty and emotionless eyes with hatred. I stared right back at her and was paralized. I looked over to my mom seeking an explanation and my parents just smiled telling me that they had adopted Samara. My world fell apart and I started begging them to kill her. They eyed me angry and told Samara to punish me. The creature stood up and let herself fall to the ground, crawling towards me. I gave out a shriek and ran upstairs, closed the door and prayed. I could hear the dead girl's nails sink into the wood of the stairs and I cried telling her to leave me alone. She wouldn't listen and she tried to open the door with all her strength. She finally got in and I got on my bed while she sat on the ground laughing maniacly. I looked over at her and she became quiet. I yelled telling her to get the hell away from me and she just stared at me with eyes full of disbelief and then she asked; why didn't you help me? Why didn't you hear me scream? Why did you leave me there to die? The cause of my death is all your fault! Murderer! You'll pay for what you did to me, and your nightmare ain't gonna end anytime soon.
I woke up in sweat. I was scared shitless, I looked around my room searching for any sight of Samara but fortunately she wasn't anywhere to be seen. I went to the bathroom to wash my face and clear up my mind. I went downstairs to get something to eat because I thought that if I'd eat something, I would be at least busy with something and I'd stop thinking about my nightmare. It worked... for five minutes. I made my way to my room again and layed in bed to go back to sleep, thinking I wouldn't dream about that freaky girl again, but I was wrong, so wrong. I dreamt about her slapping me, scraching me with her black, rotten nails and biting me. I did everything to stop her but one fearful girl is no match for a dead, lustful creature. I woke up one more time and tried to go to sleep once more but there she was again. After waking up for the third time I decided not to go to sleep. It was 4am and I was sure that I'd dream about Samara again.
