Here's a question for everyone to ponder. Out of all the horror and science fiction movies you have seen till now, what is your favorite Monster? I have many favorites but I think I will have to pick Pumpkinhead. It was created by Stan Winston ,a special effects wizard, for the movie of the same name. I really liked the look of the creature and it fit right in for the story. I know there are many other creations out there for other movies so What is yours?

Yeah, Pumpkinhead is pretty cool.

Although I would have to go with the Djinn from Wishmaster.

First, I have to give due respect to Boris Karloff as the Frankenstein monster. Next choice is Alien.

Great thread,Horrorman!
I am a sucker for giant monsters and have been since I was a lad.My favorite monster has to be Godzilla. Not so much the friendly kid saving softie he eventually became, but in his original incarnation..the KING OF THE MONSTERS.
Other faves..
Creature from the Black Lagoon
The Blob
More recently the mutated fish lizard in the movie THE HOST.

That is a REALLY tough question considering I am not huge on slashers. If you count science fiction I would go with predator from the new AVP or Freddy Krueger.

*VP looks side to side and then shouts* Horrorman!
*Horrorman glares angrily at VP* I thought I said movie monster.
*VP* Ohhhh, but I have a lot of monsters!
*Horrorman sighs* Just name 'em already!
*VP* Okay, okay... I'll have to say:

That freaky werewolf from Ginger Snaps.
Those freaky spiders from Stephen King's The Mist.
Those freaky humans, mutated into some kind of alien, from The Descent.

I know, I know. I'm not original but hey! They are freaky!

I don't remember where I saw it but I think it was based on a Stephen King short story - it has some kids that swim out to a dock even though there is no swimming - and this black oil slick like monster kills them - I will never forget the one kid lifting her face from the deck and half her face being eaten (dissolved?) where the monster had squeezed up between the boards.

Freddy's Fake Head

Godzilla/Gojira - he don't need no body else he's a one creature army. Big City no problem, just burn it the **** up! :D

You guys are making me want to see Pumpkinhead.

I've always had a soft spot for the headless horsemen since I saw him in that Disney short as a kid.

I can't even remember how he was portrayed in Sleepy Hollow, but I do remember that he was supposed to be a Prussian mercenary's ghost. I liked that.

Kaliya. I think no one knows it. It is a huge snake which have more than 100heads. To see a picture of it , go to my albums of Gods and u can see LordKrishna fighting against it. There are many movies taken in India based upon this creature. It is a mythical creature somewhat like dragons to China.

Definitly Micheal Myers, that mask is so sick. It is human but doesn't move a bit. Creepy. I keep wondering what hides behind it...

That's funny, because Michael Myers' mask is just a bleach-white William Shatner.

Michael Myers is still my favorite movie monster, and he has been for ten years for me, at least. He's still the boogeyman, to me. And if a horror movie has ever come close to being "perfect", Halloween was the one. (The original John Carpenter film. None of the other ones come close, although each has its charms.)

Ooh, I reckon its gotta be the one from John Carpenter's The Thing. Its just such an imaginative creation.

Of the more traditional monster variety I love Karloff's Frankenstein, King Kong, and the big metal giant from Jason and the Argonauts.

Pinhead - "Hellraiser"

Freddie Krueger - "Nightmare on Elm St"

And adding to the list from 2009 is...

Mine would have to be Freddy krueger all the way. I have watched him since I was about 3. He scared the hell out of me but I loved him. I cant wait for the remake to come out the only downer is that it is not Robert Englund.
